How to Develop Workflow Processes

www.businessworkflow.net/

Workflow processes are an essential element of any project. They’re the steps a task follows from start to completion. They assist you in planning and monitor important milestones through the creation of a logical sequence of activities that can reduce the amount of time and effort needed to complete a task.

Begin by identifying the goals you want to achieve. Determine what must be accomplished and who’s responsible for each task. Also, determine the time each step will take. This will help you create an organized workflow that’s tailored to your particular business needs and goals that will increase efficiency and yield the best possible outcomes.

Then, discuss with your team members to determine their responsibilities. This helps eliminate redundant tasks and overlapping duties which waste time, resources and even money. For example, if a member of your customer service team spends most of their time answering phone calls but not dealing with email inquiries, it could be time to shift that individual’s work to better meet your business’s needs.

Review your workflow map and see the areas where there are inefficiencies. For instance, if one of your workflows are taking too long because a team waits on the insight from another or another, reworking the process can improve customer and employee satisfaction.

Utilize interaction nodes to specify the options that users are presented with during a workflow process, such as approving or rejecting a record. You can also add wait nodes to stop the workflow for a period of time or until a specific event occurs, like receiving a response from a client.
